Abstract

The present work aims to study the possibilities of the practical implementation of the theoretical and empirical experience accumulated within the Uznadze school. The specific purpose is to develop methods and techniques for emotion management training based on the theory of set and its experimental data.

The use of the existing data for the purpose of the elaboration of new methodology, its validation and standartization, stimulates the development of set thory.

The training is based on the idea of interaction between set and consciousness. The aim of the training is to change attitude to emotion as a mental phenomenon and form a new attitude through realizing the value of emotions.

To elaborate new methods we used: 1) M. Baliashvili’s experimental research on attitude change  in the condition of compromise behavior. In the case of our experiment, this method was used to change the attitude towards emotions and master emotions. In our version the trainees had to defend the opinion opposite to the opinion held by them; 2) R. Mshvidobadze’s experimental study on the unconscious character of some aspects of language to identify emotions.
