Neo -Socratic dialogue as a group discussion method

Abstract

The article presents a brief overview of the history of Socratic method from the Socrates times up to now and its modification by German philosophers Leonard Nelson and Gustav Heckman, known as  Neo-Socratic Dialogue.

.It describes the main principles of Neo-Socratic dialogue, the spheres and limits of its application and the way it proceeds in the group. It also focuses on the importance of this method in terms of developing independent thinking and, accordingly, formation of civil society.
